What is a datapack?
A datapack is collection of columns and rows that can be used for creating reports, dashboards and pivot tables.
Examples of data packs are the rent roll, the A/R aging report, the P&L and so on. Typically these are equivalent to the reports you run in your property management system. We consolidate data for all your properties into the datapack, and automatically append data on each refresh cycle.
Can I select any dashboard from the catalog?
Yes. Some limitations might apply. Here are some things to think about:
- Make sure your system contains the data required to create the dashboards.
- Some dashboards are built with one data pack, others can require many more than one. So, if you’ve signed up for the Starter or Standard plan, you might hit your data pack limit.
- If you use Entrata or Rent Manager, most of the dashboards can be easily connected for a nominal charge. Other systems, such as Yardi and Appfolio could involve a more extensive effort. We will provide you an estimate.
What is the maximum number of dashboards I can have?
There’s no limit. Many dashboards can be built from a few data packs.
Do you customize the dashboards in the catalog?
Yes, we can customize the catalog dashboards. Use the catalog for ideas. We can also build a completely custom dashboard for you.
I want a dashboard that doesn’t exist in the catalog, how will that affect the pricing?
We can build you a completely custom dashboard. Our process is described here.
Will my monthly charge go up if I add more dashboards?
If there’s no need to add more datapacks, then your monthly charge will remain the same.
Which datapacks are available only in Enterprise?
General Ledger and Trial Balances are available only in the Enterprise plan.
Additionally, some of our customers ask us to load their proformas (which are usually in Excel files). Other customers have compiled market rent data and want us to load these into the Data Warehouse. We can load such data into the Data Warehouse. These services are available only in the Enterprise plan.
What do you mean by customizations?
A datapack might not contain all the columns you want. For example, you may want to look at the A/R Aging data (30, 60, 90 day balance) for each tenant along with Total Charged and Total Paid columns. Since these columns originate in different datapacks, we can create a custom datapack for you. Your analysts can pull this data into their Excel models without having to create VLOOKUPs.
Such work typically involves writing SQL code at our end. There’s a one-time charge for creating such custom datapacks but it does not impact your plan level.
